Grover 502C Roto-Grip Locking Rotomatic Machine Heads – Chrome

The Grover 502C Roto-Grip Locking Rotomatics are a set of six locking guitar machine heads designed for standard 3-a-side headstocks. Based on Grover’s established Rotomatic design, the 502 Series adds a rear thumb-screw locking mechanism to secure each string at the post for quick string changes and dependable tuning performance.

This chrome set includes three treble-side and three bass-side tuners, sealed and permanently lubricated gearing, an 18:1 gear ratio and the required mounting hardware. Australian listings using the exact GRO502 SKU identify the product as the 502C Chrome version.

Roto-Grip Locking System

Each tuner uses Grover’s rear thumb-screw mechanism to lock the string securely in the post. The string is inserted through the post hole and secured by tightening the locking thumb screw, helping simplify restringing while reducing unnecessary wraps around the post.

Precision 18:1 Rotomatic Gearing

The 502 Series features an 18:1 gear ratio for fine tuning adjustment. Sealed-in, lubricated gears protect the internal mechanism and provide smooth operation without routine gear lubrication.

Complete 3-A-Side Set

The GRO502 set contains six standard-size machine heads in a 3 treble and 3 bass configuration for guitars with three tuners on each side of the headstock. Bushings, washers and mounting screws are included.

Please Note: Check your guitar’s existing tuner dimensions and mounting-hole pattern before installation. Grover lists the 502 Series as a drop-in replacement for multiple Rotomatic series, although previous mounting holes may remain visible when replacing certain models such as the 135 and 136 Series.
